Tell us all about you, where are you based, what are your loves in life?
I’m lucky enough to be based in the market town of Ashbourne in Derbyshire, but I have the added advantage of working from my workshop at home. I’m really passionate about flowers, in fact some may say a total flower bore, but I don’t mind that!
How did you first get your business started?
I began working with flowers on a Saturday at a friends florist cafe, while I did an afternoon a week at Broomfield Hall. I loved it so much that I went on to do a full time floristry course couple of years later
What makes your business different?
There’s only one of me thank goodness so I’m what makes my business different. I put a lot of time and effort into my work and try to finish everything I do with an extra lovely little flourish.
What do you love most about weddings?
The couple themselves! I really like to meet new people and hear their stories and I think that is the best bit for me. The couples are always so excited and full of enthusiasm and I find that very infectious and what better circumstances to work in?
Any tip for brides looking into your type of service?
Do some research into what you love, and then think about what’s a need to do and what’s a nice to do, and explain this clearly to all your suppliers. Be realistic about what your budget can achieve and really listen to your wedding specialists as they will always want you to be happy on the day so they will probably have the most honest advise on how things will work best for you!
